YOUTHARVA 2015 enthralls all at The Business School, Jammu University

Jammu: Two-Day Management Fest ‘ YOUTHARVA -2015’ started with lots of vigour and enthusiasm at The Business School, University of Jammu unfolding series of activities wherein a total number of twelve participating business management institutes competed in a highly stimulating and intellectually challenging competitive environment.

The Inaugural Function of the Fest started with floral welcome of the dignitaries and the ceremonial lighting of the lamp.

Jenab Mushtaq Ahmad, Chairman and CEO of the J&K Bank was the Chief Guest on the occasion.  While addressing the students of The Business School and the participating teams from twelve  Management Institutions across the state, he emphasized upon the need for building an organizational climate where each and every employee needs to have a long term vision for not only developing businesses  but rather ‘building businesses’. He also focused upon improving the skill set of the students to make them suitable for the job market and said that the quality of the product is absolutely essential for building the institutions of excellence.

Earlier, Professor Versha Mehta, Director, The Business School and Convener Fest while welcoming all the dignitaries and the participating institutions to the Inaugural Function dwelled upon the need to shift focus of the academic institutions from being teaching centric to ‘learning centric’, so as to create learning environments within the class room situations. She also emphasized upon the need for learning by doing and said that such events enable the students to take up initiatives so as to excel in their chosen future careers.

Prof. Keshav Sharma, Convener Board of Studies in Business Management and Controller of Examinations, University of Jammu in his address lauded the efforts of the students in their whole hearted participation in the events.  He said that such a participation in competitive events is paramount to the wholesome development of the students.

Prof. B C Sharma, Dean Students Placement in his remarks said that the management students should take initiative and utilize such opportunities to showcase their talent and creativity in front of the corporate experts.

Prof. Pankaj Srivastava, Dean Students Welfare, University of Jammu also spoke on the occasion and he encouraged and motivated them to work hard and rise to an international level and discover the talent lying within them and caliber it.  During the function the ‘YOUTHARVA-2015’ newsletter was also released.

Prof. Alka Sharma, Chair Fest gave a formal vote of thanks. Ms. Shwetanshu Gupta and Mr. Jatinder Singh conducted the proceedings.

Later in the day various competitive events like Inquizitive, Aghaaz, Shootout at Fest, Sherlock Games and Bull or Bear, Rangmanch were organized. Mr. Mohit Gupta, CEO of Badrimal Ramcharan Enterprise, Mr. Vikram Gupta, CEO Airmesh, Mr. Aditya Sharma, Brand & Communication Head, AIRTEL, Mr. Dheeraj Gupta from Nivesh Investment, Ms. Ifra Kak and Mr. Rishi were the judges for their respective events.  The activities of the day one were also marked by scintillating performance by the students with events of dance, drama and music which enthralled the audience.
