SRINAGAR, JUNE 2: To plug pilferages and ensure prompt delivery of services, the Minister for CA&PD, Ch Zulfkar Ali today directed the the Department to install Internet Protocol (IP) cameras in all main stores and district godowns within one month.
Stressing on timely delivery of rations to the consumers, the Minister directed the provincial heads of CA&PD Department to issue Release Orders (ROs) on or before 15th of every month. He also instructed them to ensure supply of rations one month in advance from June 2015 onwards.
Expressing dismay over poor transport services of SRTC which in turn result in inordinate delay in distribution of rations, the Minister constituted a panel headed by Secretary CA&PD and asked it to examine the issues including cost factor, requirements of vehicles, capacity of SRTC etc. The panel has been asked to submit its report within 10 days, so that the Government can chalk out the future course of action.
Regarding grinding of wheat bran, the Minister constituted another committee under the supervision of Secretary CA&PD for fixation of grinding charges in consultation with the mill owners. He asked the asked it to submit report within 15days.
In order to maintain uniform ration scale, the Minister constituted a panel headed by Special Secretary CA&PD to conduct area-wise survey for requirement of consumers and asked the panel to submit report at the earliest.
The Minister ordered constitution of several other committees including committee for rationalization of K-oil, committee for formulating guidelines for opening of New Multi-utility stores, and to work out possibilities to make them viable, committee to submit details of all Fair Price Shops indicating the lists of rationee and distance between two stores. He directed Deputy Directors of both the divisions to submit report on physical verification of all CA&PD stores before 15 June 2015.
During the meeting, the CA&PD Department proposed an outlay of Rs 85 crores for the financial year 2015-16 while the Legal Metrology Department proposed an outlay of Rs 3.62 crore.
Secretary CA&PD, Directors CA&PD Jammu, Kashmir, Jt Controller LMD and other officers were present at the meeting.
