3 new courses introduced in University Campus Kishtwar: Akhtar



Minister for Education, Mr. Naeem Akhtar while replying to a question by Mr. Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo in the Legislative Council today said that an amount of Rs. 693.43 lakh has been incurred on various construction works for University Campus Kishtwar.

The Minister said that University Council has approved new courses like School of Computer Science and IT, Bachelor of Journalism and Mass Communication and Center for Disaster Management to be introduced in Kishtwar Campus. He said 4 courses viz MSc IT, MA Kashmiri, M. Sc. Geology (Hydrology and Soil Dynamics) and PGDCA are being offered in the Campus.

The Minister said that presently the Kishtwar campus functions from the old DITE building, spread in an area of 38 kanals. He said additional land measuring 101 kanals at Tingren Mohra (Hundri) Kishtwar has been identified and notified by the District collectorate for transfer to the University of Jammu for establishment of Kishtwar Campus.
