Army starts week long tailoring course


Jammu: Rashtriya Rifles Battalion, located at Saaj, under Romeo Force, today started an Embroidery, Cutting and Tailoring course for the duration of one week which has been organized to empower the women of remote areas of Rajouri District and help them to  become self dependent.

A total of 18 women and girls are attending the training classes.  Vocational training to women on embroidery cum tailoring course will enable these women to either start their own small scale businesses or meet their house hold requirements, thereby assisting them in leading a better life.

Parents and family members and locals appreciated thr noble gesture of the Indian Army in extending assistance towards empowering women of the area. Conveying their gratitude, locals have requested the Army to organize such more events for local youth of the area in future also.
