Two Lashkar-e- Toiba terrorists were killed in a fierce encounter in the heart of south Kashmir’s major town of Anantnag.
A senior police official said two bodies of the militants have been recovered from the site of a gunfight in Mehmaan mohalla of Anantnag town.
One of the slain militant has been identified as Abid Hussain Bhat of Sazan, Doda. He was the first youth from Doda to have joined militancy in years.
The other militant has been identified as Bin yamin alias Molvi of Khudwani ,Kulgam.
Two militants killed in the operation at Anantnag identified as
1. Bin yamin Yousf Dar @ Bilal Molvi R/o Khudwani date of joining 29/7/17.
2. Abid Hussain Bhat s/o Wali bhat R/o Suzan Doda date of joining 01/7/18.

An official said that forces launched a cordon-and-search-operation in the area following inputs about the presence of militants.
“As the forces approached the suspected spot, the hiding militants opened fire, triggering a gunfight,” he said.
They were trapped in the house of Nazir Ah Khan
