Freshly busted HM Module in Bandipora had planned a ‘Sensational attack’


Srinagar, February 17: A sleeper cell of Hizbul Mujahideen was busted on Tuesday by Police in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district which as per sources, was planning to target some prominent persons of the Kashmir who have good rapport with security forces.

A police officer has reported to a leading local daily that, four Over Ground Workers (OGWs) of Hizbul Mujahideen militant outfit have been arrested by Police. They have been identified as Muzamil Afzal Rather, Firdous Ahmed Rather, Bilal Ahmed Rather and Abdul Majeed Khan. The first three were the resident of Pazalpora while the fourth one belongs to Kralpora area of Badipora.

The officer claimed that these four OGWs were planning to execute some sensational attacks in Bandipora area. There plan was to kill a few prominent persons from their adjoining areas who have good rapport with the security forces.

They even have received weapons i.e. a pistol with ammunition and a hand grenade but their nefarious terror plan was busted with the prompt and timely action of police. Police not only foiled their plot but by arresting them but also recovered the weapons provided to them. Also, a case has been registered under FIR No. 03/2026 U/S 7/25 I A Act in police Station Pethkote and investigation is in process.

Besides. this is the third militant module which police has busted in the area in a one month’s time.
