An encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists on Saturday morning at Chattabal area of Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir. As per reports, two to three terrorists were believed to be holed up inside a house in the area. The area has been cordoned off by security forces, reports said. One terrorist has been gunned down in the encounter, news agency ANI reported.
A heavy exchange of fire has been reported from the encounter spot. One CRPF personnel has been injured in the encounter, news agency ANI reported. Reportedly, clashes also broke out between protestors and security forces close to the encounter site. Internet services have also been suspended in the area, sources said.
Meanwhile, two bullet-ridden bodies were found in Shahgund Hajin in the state’s Bandipore district. Sources said that the two deceased have been identified as civilians. They added the police was investigating the case and that they suspected militants to have killed the two people.
Police sources told that terrorists reportedly barged into the homes of the two civilians and abducted them. Later, the two were shot dead.
