Srinagar: The Wildlife Department in Pampore on Tuesday morning caught a leopard alive in Munpora Wuyan area of Pamoore in Pulwama district.
Official said that after getting information about the wild animal straying near residential area ,a team of wildlife department officials captured the leopard alive without any injury to anyone.
On Monday, Wildlife officials captured two leopard cubs in Poonch-Gund village of Beerwah in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
Officials warned that the mother leopard might not be far away and warned to remain vigilant and careful.
Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza also retweeted the post and asked people to be “vigilant and careful”.
The DC’d concern comes in view of the killing of a minor girl from Housing Colony Ompora who was mauled to death by a leopard on Friday.
Following the tragic incident, Wildlife officials have scaled up their efforts to capture and kill the “man-eater” leopard in the area.
