LG Manoj Sinha Launches Land Records Online Portal

Tampering of land documents will no longer be possible in Jammu and Kashmir. Anyone can check his house, shop, farm-barn documents online whenever he wants. This has been made possible by the Aapki Bhoomi-Aapki Surveillance-Land Records Information System.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha launched this system on Friday. Under this, any citizen can check the land papers on the CIS portal landrecords.jk.gov.in. With the government’s initiative, the possibility of any tampering with the land records will almost be eliminated. As a result, there will be a vast improvement in the functioning and efficiency of the Revenue Department.

The Lieutenant Governor said that the Aapki Bhumi Aapki Surveillance scheme launched under the Digital India Land Records Modernization Program (DILRMP) is the most critical service for ordinary people. Congratulating all the Deputy Commissioners and officers of the Revenue Department for this achievement, the Lieutenant Governor said that the journey of making the governance system genuinely transparent and accountable in the State would not stop until it is fully achieved in every field was taken.

On Friday, Chief Secretary Dr Arun Kumar Mehta inaugurated the e-Sewa web portal of the Department of Geology and Mining to provide a single touchpoint between the applicant and the department and strengthen accountability. The e-Sewa portal will ensure round the clock services to citizens/businesses in a transparent and time-bound manner. Portal designed for online application, besides providing online facilities to mineral entrepreneurs for grant and renewal of mineral dealer license/mining license, assignment of mining leases for private land, monthly returns by mining lessees/MDL holders, annual returns Will facilitate availing services like short term/settlement permits.

Chief Secretary Arun Kumar Mehta has approved the implementation of the District Good Governance Index in all the districts of Jammu and Kashmir. The Central Government has decided to take stock of the progress of good governance with the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances. Chief Secretary Mehta held a high-level online meeting with Srinivas, Special Secretary, Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances, Central Government. At present, the government has approved ten development zones, 58 indicators and 116 datasets. Data for each district will be collected and evaluated at the state and union territory level. It has been decided that after collecting the data, it will be published. Jammu and Kashmir will be the first Union Territory to release the District Good Governance Index. The index will be published in January-February 2022.

Dr Shabbir Sheikh, Director, Center for Good Governance Hyderabad, gave information on District Good Governance Index through a PowerPoint presentation in the meeting. Presently, the Center for Good Governance Hyderabad supports the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances, Government of India. In addition, the Department of Planning and Statistics collaborates with the Jammu and Kashmir Institute of Management, Public Administration and Rural Development. He is working to develop the index. This will give information about the development works being done in Jammu.
