No steel, iron? How UAE will built its first Hindu Temple?


UAE is going to build its first Hindu Temple but the attraction is not this it is the method which they going to adopt to build the temple. Abu Dhabi has decided that the temple will not be build using steel and iron or any other ferrous material. This temple will be constructed using old and traditional ways that were used in ancient times.

Swaminarayan temple of the Bochasanwasi Shri Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sansth (BAPS) witnessed a major construction milestone.

Fly ash concrete will be used for the construction and around 3000 cubic meter fly ash concrete was poured on the site. Traditionally in India steel and iron were not used in construction and following the same path this temple will not use the stell and iron reinforcement.

Fly ash will be used to reinforce the concrete in the foundation. Throughout the [whole structure of the] temple, the architecture is like several pieces of jigsaw put together without any steel or ferrous materials.

Stone carvings and statues are being built in India with pink sandstone. These carvings and statues will be included in the whole structure of the temple so that a beautiful look is created. The decision of not using iron and steel is maybe because of securing the environment.

Use of fly ash will be eco-friendly. Fly ash is used as a reinforcement in concrete. In some cases, fly ash can add to the concrete’s final strength and increase its chemical resistance and durability. Fly ash can significantly improve the workability of concrete.
