NSF criticizes establishment of 2 cluster university in J&K



Jammu: National Secular Forum (NSF) has criticized Higher Education Department for proposal regarding establishment of two cluster universities in Jammu and Kashmir.

Addressing media persons, Forum President Sukhdev Singh said that carrying out reforms in higher education was a good initiated but the establishment of cluster universities at that juncture was condemnable.

“The already established Universities including Jammu University, Central University Jammu, Baba Ghulam Shah Bhadshah University in Jammu region should be first provided sufficient infrastructure before announcements of establishment of more universities”, he said.

Criticizing further he said that it was very heartbreaking that the infrastructure and campus of CUJ was still a distant dream, while the Jammu University also san several facilities. He further said that the proposed cluster University would be in GGM Science College, which already has been grappling with space and infrastructure crunch.
