Police Confiscated Truck Full of Wood, Case Registered under Forest Act


Kanachak police confiscated a truck carrying wood used for burning in the Jhidi area. The driver of the truck, Aman Kumar, a resident of Kathua, is being questioned. A case was registered against him under the Forest Act.

According to the Kanachak police, under Form 25 issued by the Jammu and Kashmir Forest Department, it is prohibited to carry firewood after sunset. Therefore, the truck seized by the police was violating this rule, due to which it has been seized.

On Tuesday night, truck number JK08J-5717 going from Pargwal to Jammu was stopped by the police personnel after investigation. During the search of the truck, the wood used for burning was lying inside it. Taking action in the matter, the police personnel informed the forest department about the incident.
