Police officials will not be posted in hometowns 


Jammu, February 17: The district police department has observed that the employees of police stations posted in their hometowns helps increasing of crime by shielding local criminals of the area and has made a decision to post police officials in areas other than their home town.

As per a local daily, the transfers order of  transfer of dozens of local employees from Miran Sahib, Arnia and R S Pura police stations made by a senior district police officer was the part of this process only.

He felt the need of their transfer after a protester in Miran Sahib alleged that the local employees of police stations are involved with criminals of the area. The officer ordered a secret probe on receipt of complaint and the allegation were found to be true.

As a result, he ordered the transfer of dozens of such employees from Miran Sahib, Arnia and R S Pura police stations last night and posted non-local employees in their place

Reports says that many other local employees are also likely to be transferred from other police stations of the district as well to outside police stations or police posts in the coming days.
