Fearing that the river might swell again as it did during devastating floods in September last year, panicky residents have started relocating as heavy rains continue to lash the valley.

Meanwhile, reports pouring in from various parts of the district suggest that all the diversions on various streams, including the Rambi ara, have been washed away by gushing waters.

Roads leading to Srinagar, Anantnag, Rahmu, Tahab, Chatarpora, Payer and Pakharpora have been blocked.

Various areas of the district have been completely cut-off from the district headquarters, reports said.

Incessant rains have lashed the Kashmir region since last evening even as the MeT departmentSaturday warned of week-long wet spell, flash floods and landslides in various parts of the valley.
