Pulwama Martyres: Stories of 40 soldiers martyred in Pulwama attack

On Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, the attacker hit the bus of CRPF convoy in an explosive-laden car. The explosion was so severe that the bus’s children flew away. After this, ambushed terrorists also fired indiscriminately. The Pakistani terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammad was claimed responsibility for the attack.

Prior to this, Kaushal Kumar was posted in Siliguri.

They have two children, Samar of 7 years and Samir of 6 years.

Shaheed Jaimal Singh served as Head Constable Post in 76th Battalion of CRPF. He had a phone conversation with his wife in the morning on the day of his attack. He was the driver of the bus that struck the attack.

Maninder Singh Attri

Maninder Singh Atri, a resident of 75 Battalion
Arya Nagar, Dinanagar, Gurdaspur, Punjab, Dinanagar
in Gurdaspur district of Punjab, also died in the attack at the age of just 27 years. His younger brother is also posted in the paramilitary force. Father Satpal Attri is a retired government employee. A friend of the martyr said that Maninder was very interested in sports.

Nitin Shivaji Rathore

Shaheed Nitin Shivaji Rathore hailed from Maharashtra . He was serving as a constable in 03 battalions of CRPF. Nitin spoke to his wife shortly before the attack. Nobody knew that this would be their last conversation. Nitin has two children named Jeevan and Jeevisha.

Hemraj Meena belonged to Binod Kalan located in Kota, Rajasthan . The martyr Hemraj has left behind him two sons and two daughters.

, Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir , was killed in the attack in Pulwama. He was involved in relief and rescue operations during the severe floods in Pulwama in 2014 and died exactly 5 years later at the same place.

Sukhjinder Singh

Sukhjinder Singh got promotion seven months before this terrorist attack. After getting promotion, son Gurjot Singh was born in the house. Sarabjit Kaur, who lost her husband, expressed pride in the martyrdom of her husband. Gadri in the village tells the memorial of Baba Santha Singh that this village belongs to the martyrs. The village has a population of around 1300. Of this, 40 youth are posted in Army and CRPF. There are about 150 ex-servicemen.

Shaheed Vijay Soreng were from Farsama in Gumla district of Jharkhand. Vijay came home a week ago. His father is also in the force while his wife is also in the Jharkhand Armed Police.

Manoj visited his house in December before this terrorist attack. Where he celebrated his daughter’s birthday. He returned to duty again on 7 February. This was his second posting in Jammu and Kashmir. Manoj Kumar Behera posted in CRPF’s 82 battalion, leaving behind him wife and daughter. He spoke to his wife just hours before the attack.

Kumar served in the 82nd Battalion of VV CRPF. He was a resident of Kunnathidavaka Lakkidi in Wayanad, Kerala. The day before the terrorist attack, Vasanta called her mother and told her that she was going to join the new battalion before boarding the bus. He promised his mother that he would reach Srinagar and call again.

Shaheed Constable Subramaniam was serving in 82 battalions of CRPF. He was a resident of Tuticorin in Tamil Nadu. He called home in the afternoon on the day of the attack and spoke to his wife.

Sudeep Biswas

Shaheed Sudeep Biswas was the only earning member of his family. His father is an employee of Sanyasi Biswas Farm. Sudeep joined CRPF in 2014.

Maneshwar Sumatari

Maneswar returned on duty on February 4 after taking a month’s leave before the terror attack. He had told his wife that he would try posting close to home. He belonged to the Bodo community. Maneshwar was posted in the 98 Battalion of CRPF.

C Shivachandran
Just two hours before the attack, martyr C. Sivachandran spoke to his pregnant wife. But, who knew that this would be the last conversation between them. Shivachandran joined CRPF in 2010.

Martyr Kulwinder spoke to the house on the morning of the attack and talked about the repair of the house.

Martyr Jitaram, who was killed in Pulwama attack, was from Sundervali in Bharatpur district of Rajasthan. He was posted as a constable in the 92nd Battalion of CRPF.

Martyr H Guru served in 82 battalions of CRPF. After some time at home, he re-joined duty on 10 February. He spoke at his home on his way to Srinagar.

CRPF, was also martyred in a suicide attack in Pulwama on Thursday. He had also made a plan to go home on 3 March next month, but the destiny was somewhat different. He had also booked a ticket for this. He was about to come to the village for a painting of his newly built house.

Shaheed Sanjay Kumar Sinha was posted in 176 Battalion of CRPF. He was from Patna district of Bihar. Prior to this terrorist attack, he returned on duty on February 8 after spending a month’s leave. While leaving, he said that he would soon return home on 15 days leave, but this could not happen.

Shaheed Mohan Lal served as Assistant Sub Inspector in 110 Battalion of CRPF. He was a resident of Bankot in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. A year before the terrorist attack, Mohan Lal shifted his family to Dehradun for the education of his children. He joined CRPF in the year 1988.

Ratan Kumar Thakur
